Contributors’ copies and pre-orders have been dispatched, and should have reached their destinations by now. Supplies with Mad Norwegian’s mainstream distributor have been depleted (this is a very good problem to have, Mad Norwegian reckons), but additional stocks have been dispatched, so shortages are expected to be temporary.

Mad Norwegian Press very much thanks Lyda, the contributors to Whedonistas and all of the readership for their support of these new releases.

In Running Through Corridors, two Doctor Who lovers of old – Robert Shearman and Toby Hadoke – embark on an epic quest of friendship: spend the “gap year” of 2009 (when Doctor Who consisted of a handful of specials rather than a full season) re-watching the whole of Who two episodes a day, every day, from the show’s start in 1963 and ending with David Tennant’s swan song on New Year’s, 2010.

This three-volume series contains Shearman and Hadoke’s diary of that experience – a grand opus of their wry observations about the show, their desire to see the good in every story, and their chronicle of the real-life changes to Who in that year.

With this book, Who fans will feel that they’re watching along with Shearman (World Fantasy Award winner, Hugo Award nominee and writer on the new Doctor Who) and Hadoke (renowned stage performer for his one-man comedy show, “Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf”) as they make their “grand journey” through the world’s most wonderful and longest-running drama series.

In Time, Unincorporated, the best essays and commentary from a range of Doctor Who fanzines are collected and made available to a wider audience.

More than two years in the making, this highly enthusiastic yet unofficial guide serves as one of the biggest advocates of the Angel series. Written by Lars Pearson (Wizard magazine) and Christa Dickson (Dusted: The Unauthorized Guide to Buffy), Redeemed critiques the entire show in berserk detail, with an eye toward reconciling the features of the Angel-verse against themselves, and dissecting the formidable vision of Angel producers Joss Whedon, Tim Minear, Jeffrey Bell and their Mutant Enemy colleagues.

On a fine October afternoon in 1882, Rose Donnelly, maid-of-all-work, disguises herself as a boy in order to follow the callow, yet brilliantly determined Sherlock Holmes in his pursuit of a thief.

Through narrow alleyways and cobbled lanes wedged between Whitechapel, Bethnal Green and the broad back of the City, she’s led into deeper territory — worlds he knows well. So well, in fact, that he nearly has her collared on her first time out.

Still, Rose learns he has a bolt hole somewhere in Spitalfields. He speaks a smattering of Yiddish. He has a talent for picking pockets. He’s a genius with the deceptively simple disguise.

It’s a thrilling start. It’s for her doctoral thesis. Or so she believes.

This is the fifth and last original Faction Paradox novel published by Mad Norwegian Press.

The Year of the Metal Rat has brought with it greed and self-preservation. The Everlasting Empire is dying, eaten up from within, and the young upstarts Britain and Russia are circling like carrion-birds, for crows of every nation are equally black. The peasant-sect of the Righteous Harmonious Fists attacks all foreign devils. In the capital, the ancient heart of the Empire, the Europeans are besieged by the Dragon Empress’ army and the blood of a thousand Christan converts runs in the gutters.
When there is War in Heaven, there is War in the Land. A dagger can be concealed in a smile and this House of Paradox smiles often. Its servant here carries grief like dead petals in her hands and wakes the ancient spirits.
Their anger makes the sky weep blood, and we shall pay dearly for her trespass.
This is the fourth original Faction Paradox novel.

Rome never fell. Hitler won. Now they are at war.
Marcus Americanius Scriptor’s memoirs of the war between every parallel universe where Rome never fell, and every parallel universe where Hitler won the Second World War, have long been regarded as the definitive account of that turbulent time.
Scriptor’s life story, from his early life among the housesteads of an obscure province to his role in the ultimate confrontation with Nazism, was intimately connected with the major political and social developments of his time. His highly personal record of events was praised even in his own lifetime for its honesty and intimacy, as well for capturing the scale of a war that consumed thousands of worlds.
This exciting new translation of a classic work of military history is accessible to new readers and existing students of the War alike.
This is the third original Faction Paradox novel.

Laura Tobin’s a private investigator who’s summoned to investigate a very peculiar murder — one that occurs in The City of the Saved—a haven at the end of the Universe, populated by every human being or pseudo-human being who’s ever lived. Except that in the City, all murders are literally impossible. But Laura’s got a very dead body to prove otherwise.
As part of her investigation, Laura will come across the machinations of the various powers within the City, including the Rump Parliament and the City Council and more — and also perhaps the Secret Archiects who built the City in the first place.
And then there’s Faction Paradox, a group of time-travelling ritualists, saboteurs and subterfugers — essentially, the criminal-cult to end all criminal-cults. As always, the Faction’s trying to subvert history to its own ends, preferably by letting its rivals kill each other off, then swooping in to seize whatever’s left — presuming the Universe survives the conflict…

This hardcover edition of The Book of the War is signed by author Lawrence Miles and artist Jim Calafiore, and is limited to 300 copies.

A stand-alone novel in alphabetical order…

Before the Faction Paradox series from Image Comics, there was the War in Heaven—a wide-ranging conflict between the immovable Great Houses, the renegade Faction Paradox and other major powers. All of them possess time-travel technology—and all of them are trying to usurp various points in history, thus erasing thier opponents from the timestream.
Marking the first five decades of the cosmic-spanning conflict, The Book of the War is an A to Z self-contained complete guide to the Spiral Politic, from the beginning of recorded time to the fall of humanity. This book chronicles the rise of the Faction as a renegade House, the creation of a living timeship named Compassion, some brutal battles across all of time and space and more.
All in all, The Book of the War serves as the No. 1 entry point into the Faction Paradox novel and comic lines.

In Wanting to Believe, acclaimed science-fiction writer Robert Shearman critiques and examines the whole of the X-Files universe, including the spin-off series Millennium and The Lone Gunmen.

In Time, Unincorporated, the best essays and commentary from a range of Doctor Who fanzines are collected and here made available to a wider audience. In spirit, this series picks up the torch from Virgin’s License Denied collection (1997), concentrating some of the most delightful, insightful and strange writings on Doctor Who into a single source.

Volume 2 of this series contains nearly 75 essays that examine every era of the classic Doctor Who series that ran from 1963-1989, as well as the FOX TV movie (1996). The essays stem from a wide array of venerable fanzines such as Enlightenment, Shockeye’s Kitchen, Burnt Toast, Faze, Dark Circus, The Whostorian and more. Collectively, the essays derived from these sources form one of the most diverse compilations of Doctor Who writing ever produced.

As a bonus, ten of the essays were written exclusively for this volume by the likes of Matt Jones (Doctor Who, Torchwood), Simon Guerrier (The Slitheen Excursion), Pyr Books editorial director Lou Anders, and Jim Sangster (TV Heaven).

In spirit, this series picks up the torch from Virgin’s Licence Denied collection (1997), concentrating some of the most delightful, insightful and strange writings on Doctor Who into a single source.

Volume 1 of this series collects 15 years of Doctor Who-related essays and articles by Lance Parkin, one of the highest-regarded Doctor Who novelists. The cornerstone of this edition is a year-by-year survey and analysis of Doctor Who that Parkin wrote for the 40th Anniversary of Doctor Who (updated to the present), as well as a myriad of Parkin’s articles and columns from the fanzines Enlightenment and Matrix.

Also included: Parkin’s original pitch for the celebrated Doctor Who novel The Infinity Doctors (1998), his extensive advice on the art of writing and more.

The Second Edition of AHistory amends and vastly expands the work of the sold-out First Edition, continuing to incorporate the whole of Doctor Who into a single timeline.

In About Time, the whole of classic Doctor Who is examined through the lens of the real-world social and political changes — as well as ongoing developments in television production — that influenced the series in ways big and small over the course of a generation. Armed with these guidebooks, readers will be able to cast their minds back to 1975, 1982 and other years to best appreciate the series’ content and character.

Volume 6 of this series covers Seasons 22 to 26 of “Doctor Who,” focusing on the tenures of Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, as well as the TV movie starring Paul McGann in mind-bending detail. In addition to the usual concerns such as the TV show s continuity (alien races, the Doctor s abilities, etc.) and lore (anecdotal, “Did You Know?”-style material), author Tat Wood will examine each Colin Baker, McCoy and McGann story in the context of the year/historical period it was produced, determining just how topical the stories were.

Essays in this volume include: “Is Continuity a Pointless Waste of Time?”, “Why are Elements so Weird in Space?”, “Why Do Time Lords Meet in Sequence?”, “Is There a Season 6B?”, “Did They Think We’d Buy Just Any Old Crap?”, “What Might the Other Season 23 Have Been Like?”, “Who Narrates This Programme?”, “How Warped was the Doctor’s Mind?”, “How ‘Good’ is the Doctor?”, “The Valeyard, Er – How?”, “What’s All This Stuff About Anoraks?”, “What are the Oddest Romances in the Programme’s History?”, “The Semiotic Thickness of What?”, “When Did Susan Go to School?”, “What are the Gayest Things in Doctor Who, “Did Cartmel Have Any Plan at All?”, “Could It Be Magic?”, “Where Does ‘Canon’ End?”, “What Were Josiah’s Blasphemous Theories?”, “Are These ‘gods’ Related?”, “What About Season 27?” and “Does Paul McGann Count?”

With additional material by Lawrence Miles.

In the About Time 3 Second Edition, Tat Wood vastly expands upon the discussion of the Jon Pertwee era of “Doctor Who,” bringing this installment of the About Time series up to the size and elaborate depth of its fellows. All told, this Second Edition has nearly three times the material of its predecessor.

Many existing essays and entries have been greatly retooled, and evidence from the new “Doctor Who” series (unbroadcast when this book was first published) has been taken into account. New essays in this edition include “The Daemons: What the Hell Are They Doing?”, “Where Were Torchwood When All This Was Happening?” and “Is This Any Way to Run a Galactic Empire?”.

(At present, Mad Norwegian has no plans to do second editions of the other “About Time” volumes.)

Volume 1 of this series covers Seasons 1 to 3 of Doctor Who, focusing on the William Hartnell era of Doctor Who in mind-bending detail. In addition to the usual concerns such as the TV show’s continuity (alien races, the Doctor’s abilities, etc.) and lore (anecdotal, “Did You Know?”-style material), authors Lawrence Miles and Tat Wood will examine each Hartnell story in the context of the year/historical period it was produced, determining just how topical the stories were.

Essays in this volume include:

“Where Did All of This Come From?”

“Who Really Created the Daleks?”

North Africa is in ruins after the Aswan dams collapse and a massive flood reclaims the Nile valley. The privileged and the sane have long since abandoned Egypt to the scavengers and the dregs of society.

Christian El-Aref is a street rat, living hand-to-mouth. His life is going nowhere fast. Then he stumbles over a dead body carrying revolutionary shareware tech. Now he’s being hunted. And if he’s not careful, the next dead body may be his own.

This action-packed cyberpunk thriller weaves its way through the slums of a flooded Cairo, encountering murderous cults of eunuchs, an assassination plot perpetrated by angels, and an enigmatic street urchin who may or may not be the reincarnation of the prophet Mohammed.

Lyda Morehouse tells the anticipated story of how Christian became the Mouse, the father of the underground Internet and the technological hope of the disenfranchised in a dystopian theocratic near-future, in this standalone prequel to her acclaimed AngeLINK novel series. Also included: Morehouse’s AngeLINK-related short story, “ishtartu,” from the Lambda Award-nominated collection Periphery.
